A giant salamander was found on the streets of Kawaski, Japan. Police were called to capture the giant salamander which had apparently escaped from it's owners cage. The Japanese giant salamander, Andrias japonicus, is illegal as a pet and has prompted the japanese government to consider using microchips for electronic tracking of exotic pets.
