UPDATE - eating amphibians - canned frogs and salamander feasts to fight SARS
Updating a past post eating amphibians: canned frogs and salamander feasts to fight SARS, Yahoo! News had sent me a link to an AP article stating that China was starting to reduce it's consumption of exotic animals such as the Chinese Giant Salamander, Andrias davidianus. The article, http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060418/ap_on_re_as/china_eating_wildlife_3, generally states that there are reductions in amount of exotic animals sold in open markets, although one fact, that many grocery stores are now carrying exotic animal products, still gives me plenty of reason to worry about the longterm fate of this animal.
